CIARA PHILLIPS V&A DUNDEE

The highly anticipated new V&A Dundee is set to open to the public on the 15th September 2018.  The temporary and permanent galleries, which include 300 exhibits in free to enter galleries, will be complemented by a series of new commissions and installations that will activate and respond to the collections.

The inaugural V&A commission has been awarded to From the Studio featured artist Ciara Phillips. Ciara is creating a print installation that will welcome visitors as they reach the upper floor of the museum. The piece will be a response to the V&A’s remarkable collections of Scottish design, and draw on research into textile histories and Scottish ceramic production.

This huge investment into the city of Dundee will only add to it's already vibrant and distinctive cultural scene and the stunning new V&A building designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kumo, which sits on the edge of the River Tay, will draw new visitors and tourists to the city from far and wide.

Make sure you visit it this Autumn.
