Thom Rees

Thom Rees is a Glasgow based artist working in sculpture and printmaking. He graduated from the MLitt Fine Art: Sculpture at GSA in 2016. Exhibitions include MK Calling, MK GALLERY, Milton Keynes (2020), BOTL BOTL BOTL, New Glasgow Society, Glasgow (2018); ONYX, Alpha Gallery Miami, Miami: BONKERS CONTEMPORARY, Biscuit Factory, Edinburgh (2017); Inventory of Behaviours, Blip Blip Blip, Leeds (2017). Thom Rees’ practice explores shape and form through process and material appropriated from domestic environments and associated phenomena.

Presented for sale is a series of experimental works driven by an exploration into mark making through the process of mono screen printing. A mechanistic approach to the action of printing allows the applied ink to move unrestricted through blank screens negating control of outcome and creating its own formal aesthetic.
